UPFRONT | From the editor Embracing change When Canadian Chiropractor first launched in 1996, our original tagline read: “Serving Canada’s Chiropractic and Naturopathic Professions.” In our September 2006 issue, the choice was made to drop that cover line. At that time, the naturopathic profession was quite small, but times have changed and there are now more than 2,400 naturopathic doctors across the country. The profession is still seeking national regulation and is currently regulated in five provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatche-wan, Manitoba and Ontario. In Nova Scotia, the Naturopathic Doctors Act of 2008 grants title protection for its naturopathic doctors. This publication is returning to its “roots” so to speak. With our May issue launch, we will now be known as Chiropractic and Naturopathic Doctor. Our chiropractors and our chiropractic content is NOT being ignored or abandoned – this small change is simply a way to make the magazine more engaging and dynamic as the chiropractic and naturopathic professions evolve. The collaborative efforts of both professions will be highlighted, as it’s important now, more than ever to work together and continue to build mutual working relationships. Other than our name change, it’s business as usual. You can still expect to find the same awesome content from fellow DCs like you. While some of the content featured in our issues may only be applicable to one profession or the other, there will be practice and business manage-ment advice, general health news, and we will highlight collaborative success stories for both professions so everyone can continue to gain insight and accomplish practice success. Our digital components will slowly be switching over with the launch of the May print edition, but our team will handle everything and ensure you’re still receiving our same great content, just with a title change. There is no harm in reading more to understand, t0 ask for help or advice from like-minded individuals, and to celebrate the success stories of others. I hope our subscribers (both new and old) will embrace this change and are excited to embark on our new journey as a re-launched publication, together.
