industry news RESEARCH ‘ON THE GO’ FOR BUSY CLINICIANS AND STUDENTS Research Review Service (RRS) will be offering audio reviews to allow easier access to relevant research for busy clinicians and students. For 2011, RRS will diversify their format to include audio re-views. This new offering is in response to subscriber requests, and will allow a “research on the go” approach for busy doc-tors and students. Says Dr. Shawn Thistle, founder and presi-dent: “RRS will strive to responsibly and realistically connect science and practice, making research integration easier as we adapt our format to keep up with new technology or as sub-scriber input dictates.” Now in its fifth year, Research Review Service (RRS) has es-tablished itself as a useful ally to doctors and students who are seeking to integrate emerging research into their practice and patient care. RRS now has subscribers from around the world who log on to read weekly reviews of the latest research affecting chiropractic and its allied professions. As always, a variety of topics is covered efficiently by the RRS team of writ-ers – all of whom have research experience and are actively involved in patient care. Their unique perspectives allow them to emphasize the clinical applications of research. Subscribers enjoy new weekly content as well as the database of over 300 existing reviews. Since the service began, the format of the weekly RRS re-views has evolved to include not only background information and pertinent results from each study, but also a critique of the research design and an enhanced focus on the real-world application of findings. Earlier this year the RRS website received a major cosmetic and functional overhaul, including the addition of a subscriber database that is publicly accessible. As well, a Facebook page, where further research informa-tion and links are posted, was also launched. Search for “Re-search Review Service” on Facebook. RRS also launched a new sister service for fitness profession-als called RRS-Fitness. RRS-Fitness is now in its second year of operation and offers the same delivery format as the original site, covering topics related to exercise, strength and condi-tioning, nutrition and human performance. The web address for this service is www.fitness.researchreviewservice.com. And now, in the coming year, RRS will be creating audio reviews for even greater ease of access to timely and relevant research that can inform practice. One of the primary goals of the service, according to Dr. Thistle, is to “…demystify chiropractic and manual medicine research and allow individual practitioners to gain an appre-ciation of the research process, as well as a practical under-standing of how emerging literature can impact how they care for their patients. RRS can help bridge the gap between the large volume of new research and those in the field who need to know about it – with the ultimate beneficiary being our patients.” For more information about RRS or RRS-Fitness, including how to subscribe, please visit the website www.researchreviewservice.com or www.fitness.researchreviewservice.com. • Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College Practice OpportUnity‘11 Thursday, March 24, 2011 12:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Holiday Inn Markham -Woodbine, just north of Steeles Recruiting...selling...seeking employment?
