NEW OCA PRESIDENT, DR. THOMAS GADSBY, WILL WORK FOR GREATER MEMBER INVOLVEMENT The Ontario Chiropractic Association would like to con- gratulate and welcome its newest president, Dr. Thomas Gadsby. Dr Gadsby initially joined the OCA board in 1996 and, now, after 11 years, he feels his commitment to the organization is stronger than ever. “The work I’ve done with the OCA board has really changed my perspective of the chiropractic profession and the world around us,” says Dr. Gadsby, who was recently elected to become president at the OCA Annual General Meeting in Toronto. “I believe that my experience has provided me with the skills to better serve the needs of our profession, particularly during a time of such substantial transition in the health care system.” Dr. Gadsby graduated from CMCC in 1984 and practiced first in St. Catharines and then in Beamsville, Ontario. Most recently he served as OCA vice-president and previously occupied the position of secretary treasurer on the associ- ation’s executive. As president, Dr. Gadsby states that he is committed to working with the OCA Board and staff to cement the chiropractic profession’s role as a significant player in health care. Also, during his tenure as president, Dr. Gadsby hopes to involve and engage members more directly in the ongoing activities of the OCA. “The OCA belongs to the chiropractors of Ontario. When they take an active role and participate in ongoing initiatives, it helps to ensure that the OCA remains relevant to the needs of its membership,” he says. “Further, involvement by members is important if we are to build stronger intra-professional relationships, as well as inter- professional ones.” From left to right: Dr. Brian Wolfe, past OCA president, Dr. Jean Moss, CMCC president, Dr. Thomas Gadsby, new OCA president. Dr. Gadsby is confident that the OCA can generate greater appreciation for the value of chiropractic services across the framework of provincial healthcare. “We can show decision makers why chiropractors can continue to be an integral part of health care in Ontario,” he says. “All of Ontario can benefit if we work together.” FOOT LEVELERS PARTNERS WITH BRITISH COLUMBIA CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION Foot Levelers is excited to announce a partnership with the British Columbia Chiropractic Association (BCCA).
