Join ERRATUM Re: Article titled, “The Evolu-tion of Kinesiology Tape – More than pretty colours?”, December 2012 issue, pages 28-29. In this article, the term “kine-siotape” was used interchange-ably with “kinesiology taping” and “elastic therapeutic tape.” We apologize for any inconve-nience resulting from this over-sight on our part. In fact, although this term is becoming ubiquitous through-out the literature that deals with this subject matter – and is commonly used, conversation-ally, amongst professionals who work with elastic therapeutic tape – it is important to note that Kinesio Tape, and, by extension Kinesiotaping, is actually a regis-tered trademark. As such, these labels cannot be used as um-brella terms for this tool or any technique with which it is ap-plied, other than for the specific product and methods offered by the Kinesio company. us and acquire the skills to care for more families in your community. icpa4kids.com/seminarsca Please view the ICPA website for a full seminar schedule: DCs CAN SIGN OFF ON ‘RETURN TO PLAY’ Hockey Canada, in consultation with the Hockey Canada Chief Medical Officer and the Hockey Development Centre for Ontario (HDCO) Hockey Trainers Certifi-cation Program committee, has approved amendments adding chiropractors to the list of prac-titioners who can sign off on return to play for muscular and skeletal injuries. The ruling states, “With re-spect to players returning to play, muscular and skeletal injuries (ex-cluding fractures) can be signed off by physicians, chiropractors, physiotherapists, or nurse prac-titioners.” This information, disseminated at the end of December 2012 in a memorandum to HDCO mem-ber associations, was declared effective immediately and has al-ready been incorporated into the Hockey Trainers Certification Pro-gram e-Learning course module.
